Midweek Musings, 1

I've invested a fair amount of time trying to select books I'll read this month. Because I've signed up for an assortment of challenges, I want to make sure that I'm putting in a reasonable quota for each. This means I need to plan, so I have a mixture of new releases and books I owned pre-2016.

But...when I finish a book, and it's time to pick up a new one, I find myself considering other options. I head for (one of) my bookcase(s), and my fingers tease the spines of books that didn't make the cut for January.

I'm flirting with books that are 'off-limits!'

Maybe I'm not approaching the question of what to read next in the best way.

How do you decide what to read next?

  1. I have two Criteria. Cover art and Back page blurbs. Those are the things that tell me if I am in the mood and I put that in a stack and wheedle it down from there. Takes about 15 minutes. I try to keep my different Genre's in Different boxes or stacks so if I am in the mood for a good Fantasy book, I go to that box and dig out a bunch and make a stack from there.
