Why I picked up this book:

The tag line is cute, and I may have a thing for making plans, lists, setting up organizers and then... well... losing track of them.

Blurb:

Love is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans…

My thoughts:

That blurb isn't much to go on, is it?

Well, here's a bit more information:

Amanda Gray is looking to get her life back on track after supporting her brother Mikey after an accident leaves him in a wheelchair and he returns to law school.  Amanda's learned not to tempt Fate by making plans, but for her brother's sexy best friend Jared King, making plans is a way of life. When he offers her a job to help her get started on her new path, Amanda's forced to confront her 'live in the moment' lifestyle - and that she can't stop thinking about kissing her new boss....

This is a quick (and short) romance that felt like it packed a whole lot into very few pages - successfully, I might add. I felt like I was taken on a real romantic journey. These two have a history as friends, which helps, but there's also something that I found really compelling in the way that they interact and care for each other.

There are some really cute moments and also some really emotional and mature moments that didn't strike me too deeply while I was reading but that upon reflection were  pretty significant. I like that there was a little more to the book emotionally, but that I could still enjoy it  while I was reading and skating along the surface.

Randomly, I loved Jared's half-smirk/smile. It's funny because this isn't a new expression, by any means. But somehow I felt like it was just deployed to the perfect effect in this book. So bravo for that!

Bottom line:

A sweet, enjoyable read that might make you think about the balance between making plans and seizing the moment. Or maybe you'll just enjoy the romance for what it is. Either way, I recommend this one!
