Why I picked up this book:
The blurb hits so many of my sweet spots for contemporary romance...
Blurb:
How far will you go for perfection?
For “Perfect Paige” Westfield, today is “D” Day. As in, she just got one on her calculus test. With her dreams of Stanford, her reputation, and her parents’ expectations at stake, Paige needs to find a way to save face before everything she’s worked for goes up in flames.
Ben Franklin (yes, he’s related) is from the wrong side of town, with the wrong clothes and the wrong kind of life. He also knows an opportunity when he sees one, and he’ll be happy to tutor Paige—if she makes him into the kind of guy her best friend, the hottest girl in school, will date.
It’s the perfect arrangement. And Paige is determined not even the inconvenient—and utterly imperfect—attraction simmering between her and Ben will ruin it…

My Thoughts:
Dear Readers, Entangled's Crush imprint is *killing it* this month. I loved reading Ten Things Sloane Hates About Tru, and Finding Perfect is another adorable, sweet, cute YA take on romance. I completely enjoyed this book, it put a smile on my face.
So what had me grinning from start to finish? Paige is a delight. She's working so hard, trying to be so pleasant, and accommodating so she can meet everyone's mile-high expectations that when she struggles on a calculus test and her grades are threatened? Disaster! Despite this, despite how heavy all the pressure is, Paige still tries to carry on with as much grace and kindness as she can. She's not the type to give up, no matter how hard the going gets.
Ben is adorable. He's the invisible nerd, living in the wrong part of town. He's got a crush on Paige's best friend--or perhaps it's more of a severe case of lust. And he figures if he helps Paige, she can help him... Honestly, this is the guy everyone should fall in love with, always. Okay, maybe not, but he's so earnest, intelligent, and he tries so hard... Happy sigh.
One of the qualities that unites these two is their incredible work ethic. They both are hard workers, though the circumstances around why varies. I like reading about teenagers whose lives revolve around age-appropriate activities. School, school clubs, homework, and part-time jobs were all important parts of my teenage landscape, along with age-appropriate restrictions.
Really, Ben and Paige are adorable together. Neither one of them is an expert on relationships, and watching them stumble through, trying to figure it all out is really fun. The story is told from both their perspectives, and their voices are very distinct. I
Bottom line:
Unless you hate contemporary YA, I suggest you read Finding Perfect. I love Paige and Ben, their story felt realistic to me, I loved the way this story plays with the 'makeover' trope. It's a really fun read. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this one. Go forth and read it!
5 stars
For fans of YA and contemporary romance, guy makeovers, strong teenagers
Don't just take my word for it though! I've gathered up a couple of other blog reviews, so check them out for some other opinions!
