Stacking the Shelves - January 25th edition

Stacking the Shelves is an awesome meme hosted by Tynga's Review.

Bloggers share the books they've received, bought, borrowed - and I collect more and more books for my 'must acquire' list.

This week, I only picked up review copies. Well, technically I put in an order for eight 'teen reads' via Chapters' 2 for $15 deal (which is online only, as I discovered in the store last night - sigh), but I won't count them as stacking my shelves until they're actually in the house. This gives me some precious time to read some of the books already on my shelves and make space for the new ones.

So, what *did* I pick up?  Four review books:

1. Sun God Seeks...Surrogate? by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This one is billed as a romance in which a god's sister schemes to bring a woman into his life by telling her that she'll earn a million dollars for having a baby with him (with a whole bunch of rationalization why this is a good idea, of course).

2. Once Upon a Masquerade by Tamara Hughes. From Entangled (which has become one of my 'must check' publishers in general as I love the variety that they're publishing!), this is a Cinderella tale set in NYC in 1883 featuring a housemaid masquerading as an heiress and a shipping magnate investigating a murder.

3. Charlotte: Prowling for Enchantment by Mima. This *sounds* like an erotic/romance choose your own adventure (as it features eleven endings?) and I have no idea how that will work, but I'm curious!
4. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. One of those books I always thought I *should* read, with secrets, monsters and star-crossed lovers, I'm pretty sure I'll like it.

What did you pick up this week?  Have you read any of the books I grabbed? What'd you think of them?  Is there something I should have picked up but didn't?
